Joshi's Holistic Detox: Day Six

Wow, almost one week down! If I keep taking it one day at a time, I think I can actually do this. Instead of worrying about making it through three weeks, I'm just focusing on making it through today.

Breakkie was supposed to be plain yogurt with a banana and sunflower seeds... but there were no bananas to be found! Boo.

The yogurt was saved when I remembered that I can have honey! It was so delicious, I felt like I was cheating. :)

Pomegranate green tea. Word.

Lunch was leftover fried rice from Sunday. It tasted slightly less bland today, I think?

While watching some Californication (did I mention I don't have to teach on Tuesdays? It's divine), I nibbled on some walnuts, carrots, Mary's Crackers, and hummus. Along with more green tea, blueberry this time.

Another staple of mine during this detox: rice puffs with soy milk. Yum!

Eaten balanced on my knees in front of my laptop...

On Sunday, my mom bought a bread maker, which she's been wanting for a long time. After trying the brown rice bread I'd been eating, she felt so bad for me that she decided to bake her first loaf for me!

Yeast-free spelt bread! I know spelt flour does contain some gluten, but I don't think it's much. Also, in one of the testimonials in the Detox book, spelt bread is mentioned... so I think it's safe enough!

I made another trip to The Big Carrot this evening. I picked up a couple of treats from their deli counter for dinner: brown rice pasta with garlic and lemon, and some roasted veggies. I ate it with my new spelt bread with vegan margarine.

Maybe the best meal I've had on the detox so far?

I picked up some almond butter at The Carrot as well, so my upcoming evening snack may or may not include this morning's missing banana with some almond butter...

In the meantime, I need to prep my lesson for 8:30 tomorrow morning. Yikes!

'Til tomorrow! :)

The homemade bread was delicious! You could come over and have some if you wanted! Skip whatever you are studying for and visit me instead.

Oh right, I still haven't opened that box... sorry...
